About the WD Red Plus 12TB 3.5″ NAS Hard Drive
The WD Red Plus 12TB (WD120EFGX) is a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive for home and small office NAS units with up to eight bays. It uses conventional magnetic recording in an air-filled design, spins at 7200 RPM and pairs a 512MB cache with internal transfer rates of up to 260 MB/s. WD rates it for a 180TB per year workload, 600,000 load/unload cycles and an MTBF of one million hours, which suits RAID arrays that run all day. The 12TB capacity gives a four-bay NAS plenty of room for file shares, media and backups, and the drive has a three year WD limited warranty.
