About the Toshiba S300 2TB 3.5″ Surveillance Hard Drive
The Toshiba S300 2TB is a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive built for home and small business DVRs and NVRs that record around the clock. It spins at 5400 RPM with a 128MB buffer and uses SMR recording, a low-spin design that keeps power use to about 4 W in operation and noise to 21 dB at idle. Toshiba rates it for up to 64 cameras, systems with up to eight bays and a 180TB per year workload, with an MTTF of one million hours. The 2TB capacity suits compact recorders and smaller camera kits, and the bulk drive carries a three year Toshiba warranty.
